Notes

This is an older, 3 story apartment building, that was converted into a hotel.  This hotel is only one-block away from our home in Downtown Vancouver and we pass by it all the time.  They have just finished renovating the hotel recently.  It is one step away from the beach (English Bay), two blocks from Stanley Park and a 15-20 min walk to the Reception venue (or a 3 min cab ride) and a 10 min cab ride to the Church.

• All suites feature separate bedroom, living room with a sofa bed and full kitchen
• Maximum 4 guests per room
• Free high-speed wireless internet in all the rooms

This is basic accommodation in a well-sought after location in the city.  If you are interested, please contact the hotel.  They do not block rooms, but if there are enough people we may be able to get a discount.
 

Notes

At 8 stories, it was the largest structure in the West End until 1958.   The Sylvia Hotel has graceful charm, amenities and a long tradition of friendly service.  It continues to be a favourite destination for visitors to Vancouver and is in a unique location downtown, situated on English Bay Beach, right next to Stanley Park.  This hotel was built in 1912 and is a designated Heritage Building by the City of Vancouver.

Rates:

• Guest Rooms start at $145 + 15% tax
• Rooms with kitchen starts at $180 + 15% tax
• Suites start at $200 + 15% tax

Rates are based on single or double occupancy.  Daily parking is $10.00

We've never stayed at this Hotel, but we go to the Sylvia Bar a lot for night caps. This hotel is always busy and since most tourists go for the more "obvious" hotels (ie. Holiday Inn, Best Western, Hyatt, Sheraton)  this hotel is actually the best kept secret of Vancouver. 

This Hotel is across the street from the Oceanside Hotel.
